Our clients need flexibility within their workforce solution. They need to be able to increase or decrease drivers notice at very short notice and they certainly need the option to adjust driver start times. Recruitment agencies have always been able to offer this but sadly many have not offered the other vital labour supply elements. Reliability and quality. This was our market opportunity. Our solution was not devised by sales people, but from people who had worked in a logistics environment and who had previously 'bought' agency labour. In the last six years we have grown from a business with a £12m turnover to one with over £65m. We have grown business with every client we have. The fact we have grown, in difficult economic conditions, without any sales team or structured sales activity is testament to our service delivery. We are on the preferred supply list for the two largest 3PLs in the country and we provide a solution to 4 of the top 5 retailers in the UK, for one of whom we are the sole national supplier. We do not look to sit on the periphery of labour supply, but working with clients we look to become a strategic supplier and an on-going part of their labour supply. When you first meet an ADR Network consultant you will notice that they are not involved in any other sector of recruitment, the recruitment and placement of drivers is their complete focus. Registering for the first time will not be a simple form filling exercise. The consultant will spend time to understand your experience and your preference for certain assignments. Most drivers comment on how detailed our registration process is compared to other agencies. Hopefully it always turns out to be time well spent. Critically we feature on the preferred supplier list of most major logistics firms and most major retailers. We remain very busy in the winter months and all our supply contracts have an all year round requirement.
We pride ourselves on getting a drivers pay correct, first time. The business was founded by two drivers and at that time the gap in the market, as they saw it, was for an agency that treated drivers professionally and focused attention as much on driver retention as driver recruitment. Much has changed over the last 13 years but this basic ethos remains key to our success. Indeed, one of our most long serving drivers, Tony Wallis, says it better than we can:
